PARI nebulizers are equipped with the PIF Control System.
The PIF Control System is a sensory feedback system that responds to the patient’s breathing by automatically limiting the inhaled airflow (PIF = Peak Inspiratory Flow). If the patient inhales too quickly, the valve reduces the size of the nebulizer chamber opening. The patient perceives this as resistance — a warning signal to inhale more slowly during the remainder of the session.
In this way, the PIF Control System teaches the patient to inhale slowly and in a controlled manner, ensuring effective pulmonary deposition of the medication.
